GradMag - The Paper Journey
"THE PAPER JOURNEY" was inspired by travelers and the passports that one would carry whilst travelling.
My class and I are a mixed bunch. Some of us from one end to another and others a few districts down but we all share one common interest and that is Art.
Most drafts start out with pen and paper or pencil and paper, We seldom jump from an idea in our heads and apply it straight away.
It's good to sit down and draft out ideas and the endless possibilities of our artistic skills hence why I named this Idea The Paper Journey.
So for us that use paper to map our life journeys and to create these endless possibilities, this is what the idea was all about. Along the way, one day our work will reach out through what used to be drawn on paper.
The paper plane and lines were hand drawn and then converted into a vector. I mixed in traditional elements and digital elements. Also, I wanted this design to be able to be customized according to ones mood and suitability. However, the initial cover design suits best printed against brown textured paper.
I sat down and Skyped with Po and Arifah whilst we did this. Po has made a different version.
