Concepts and Inspirations
Skimming through examples of portfolios as well as regular book layouts, designs and the idea of making a portfolio that best represents myself, I've collected a few examples that have inspired me.
Minimalism and clear layouts is what I'm going for. A clear layout view on my works will not deter people's attention to the main focus of a portfolio. Using cool tones and image placement in the right place.
My initial layout of my portfolio will be roughly in the size 9.3"x 10.3" hardcover.
Another idea or concept of minimalism is to embed design on the cover itself
Initially I wanted to bind my portfolio in traditional Japanese binding, although that may or may not be possible if I were to do hardcover. But the consideration to place Acrylic as the front cover is one of my ideas.
Types of binding. most likely will not be doing japanese binding but with some sort of strong adhesive tape to or using screws to bind the whole thing together if possible.
